July Favorites 2019

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Happy August! We’re in full summer mode and I’m absolutely loving it. The month of July was incredible for me with lot’s of travel, family and much appreciated down time. I’m at my lake house now in Northern Japan and enjoying long, sunny days out in the sun. I’ve been working on a lot of different and cool posts for the coming months and I can’t wait to share it all with you. I honestly have just been super chill this last month, so this month is a bit shorter, but nonetheless here it is, enjoy!

Skincare Product- This is basically makeup, but I’ll put it here for now. During these weeks at the lake, I haven’t really been wearing a lot of makeup, but I do like to have a nice little glow going, especially since I’m out in the sun all the time. I’ve been using the Benefit Girl Meets Pearl luminizer to highlight my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

Makeup Product- I talked about this in my last favorites post, but I bought five new eye shadows from Kiko Milano in Sicily and Barcelona and absolutely love them. My favorite eye shadows are typically Tarte and the Colourpop super shocks, and these easily match up to those two. I was looking for more colorful shades to test out and found some beautiful purples, pinks, blues and yellows. They apply so buttery and smoothly without creasing, even after wearing it throughout a long day.

Clothing Item- While I was in Barcelona, I was on the hunt for a new, cute white bikini top, and I finally found the cutest one at the store Undiz. It was only 10 euros and is such good quality with good support (kinda hard to find that combo in bikini tops!). I’ve been wearing it a lot here at the lake and keep on getting comments about how cute it is. Such a steal, such a great purchase, be sure to check them out!

Movie- I talked about how much I loved ‘The First Monday in May’ in a favorites post a few months ago, and this month I finally watched ‘The September Issue’ the other day and I love it just as much. It follows the life and career of Vogue’s Anna Wintour, who I am absolutely obsessed with. It’s such a great movie, and if you’re looking for something to watch after watching ‘The First Monday in May’, watch this!

TV Show- I started watching Designated Survivor on Netflix at the beginning of the month and finished the first two seasons (48 episodes) in about 5 days and finished the third season soon after that. It’s such a good and addicting show that’s very current and relatable to what’s happening in our political world today. I’m so sad because news just broke that the show just got cancelled, but I think it’s still 100% worth it to watch those three seasons anyway.

Song- Like everyone else, I’ve been obsessed with Ed Sheeran’s new collaboration album, but I’ve especially been loving South of the Border. It’s such a great album and did not disappoint, especially with all the hype. But I’ve also found myself listening to a lot of Jess and Gabriel’s cover songs (on Spotify) that I’ve been really liking.

See you soon, stay tuned for more posts xx

June Favorites 2019

Hello lovelies, hope you all had a sun-filled weekend! It’s time again for monthly favorites. I’ve been traveling/on vacation for most of the month so a lot of these are things that I found useful/just like a lot during this trip.

Skincare Product- I’ve talked about this product a lot on here, but the Tarte Maracuja Oil has been amazing this month to help me with my skin and makeup. I usually use it on a pamper evening for my face right before I go to sleep, but this month I’ve been using it together with my foundation to make it a little more hydrating and lightweight.

Makeup Product- This summer I’ve been using my Tarte Passport to Paradise palette a ton. It has a mix of beautiful neutral shades and fun pops of color to play around with. As always, the pigment and formula on these shadows are so nice and apply so smoothly and last a full day of sun and sweat. I also discovered the brand Kiko Milano when I was in Italy so I picked up a few shadows and am excited to see how those are!

Haircare Product- This month I’ve been using the Garnier Grow Stronger Apple conditioner for my hair and it’s been amazing. I’ve been loving Garnier shampoo and conditioner for the last year now, and this conditioner is perfect for summer. I don’t love using too many oils or leave-ins during the summer because it can get too heavy and oily at times, so this conditioner leaves my hair so smooth and silky that I don’t need to use anything after.

Clothing Item- I found this cute off the shoulder top at Forever 21 in Tokyo right before we left for our Europe trip and it’s quickly become my favorite top this vacation. It’s SO cute and summery and can be easily dressed up and down. I’ve worn it so many times and I’ve loved it every time. It’s a very thin and light material that is so cool and breathable, especially on those sweltering days.

Accessory- I got the Lele Sadoughi Silver Circle Necklace in one of my past FabFitFun boxes and I’ve been wearing it a lot this summer. I used to only wear it when I got dressed up a bit, but I’ve been wearing it with all sorts of outfits the last month. It’s just a simply but beautiful statement piece that’s not too in your face but still makes a statement.

Movie- I haven’t really been watching movies this month, maybe because I’ve just been binging Full House, but one movie I really want to watch it Netflix’s new Murder Mystery with Jennifer Anniston and Adam Sandler. I love when they work together and love them both separately as well, so I can’t wait to watch it.

TV Show- Ever since I was little, I’ve been addicted to Full House, but for some reason I’ve found myself watching it a ton over the last month. I don’t really know why, but anytime I sit down to watch something I seem to always put it on. I’ve seen every episode at least three times so it’s not new to me at all, but it’s such a fun and easy show to have on while doing whatever.

Podcast- You might think this is super lame, but I DON’T CARE. I listen to the Almost Famous podcast with Ashley Iaconetti and Ben Higgins religiously. Every week after the Bachelorette I run to download their recap episode and listen to the whole hour and a half pretty much in one sitting.

Song- I don’t know how I just discovered this song, especially since I’m in love with Kelly Clarkson, but “Broken & Beautiful” from the movie ‘Ugly Dolls’ has been on my repeat list for the last few weeks. It’s so catchy and upbeat with such a strong, positive message.

App- Since I’ve been taking SO many photos and wanting to edit them well but quickly on my phone, I’ve been using the app Airbrush. I think it’s meant more for editing your face/body, but I think it has great features for editing the coloring/lighting/saturation and all that other stuff for landscape photos. I love just having an app on my phone that I can use anytime, anyplace.

Travel Accessory- I’ve been using my polka dot Kate Spade passport case (discontinued) for a couple of years now and am reminded of how much I love it every time I travel. Not only do I get to travel in style, but it makes it so easy to keep track of my passport and allows me to keep my other important cards and travel documents together in the same place.

Mode of Transport- Haha! I know this sounds weird, but for the first time in any of our lives, my family and I went on a cruise. I had honestly never thought much of cruises and was never really interested in it, but it ended up being hands down one of my favorite vacations/way to travel ever. We traveled with Princess Cruises, on the ship the Emerald Princess, and it was such a lovely experience. The ship, rooms, pool, clubs, bars, restaurants and everything else were so nice and clean and the staff and everyone who took care of us were so incredibly generous and made the trip so special.

Lots of fun Travel Diaries to come, so keep an eye out for those over the next few weeks. But for now, soak up the sun and enjoy the summer!

Natural, Sun-Kissed Glam

Happy Friday! Cheers to the freaking weekend has never been more accurate. The week started off a little cloudy and gloomy, but the sun is finally out and I’m absolutely living for it. I’m heading into the time of the year when I’m constantly out in the sun and just need an easy, natural makeup routine to complement my sun-kissed glow. I’ve been finding myself reaching for these specific products over and over again over the last couple of weeks and wanted to share this quick and easy routine with you. I guarantee you’ll glow brighter than ever. Soak up the sun, get your tan on and enjoy the weekend!

1. The first thing I always do is make sure that my skin is healthy and prepped. When I’m out in the sun a lot, my skin tends to be clearer (the sun is good for shrinking pores and drying out spots) but it also produces more dead skin. I make sure to exfoliate well using either the Kate Sommerville ExfoliKate or the Grown Alchemist grapefruit facial polish followed by the Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizing gel. I tend not to use any BB cream or foundation during the summer because I really like to let my skin breathe.

2. Once all that’s done I move onto the actual makeup part of my routine, which always starts with my brows. I’ve mentioned this product before and it’s become my holy grail brow product, but the Etude House drawing eyebrow pencil is an absolute god-sent. It’s so easy to use (seriously takes me like 40 seconds total to fill in both my brows completely) and lasts all day through classes, pool days, workouts and everything else. I’ll then go over that with the Benefit 3D browtones to set them in place.

3. For my eyes, I usually keep it fairly neutral with lot’s of shimmery bronze shades. I’ve been using my Tarte Passport to Paradise Palette for most of my eye looks. I’ll by buffing ‘seven wonders’ in to my crease line and then go back over that with ‘flaotie’ (a bit of a deeper shade). And then using my finger, I’ll go in with ‘cliff jump’, which is a beautiful orange-y shimmer, all over my lid. If I’m wanting to add a bit more shimmer to my outer lid, I’ll get a bigger blending brush and pop on a little bit of ‘bucket list’ in the outer corner of my eye. Just to keep it easy with the same palette, I’ll use ‘luau’ in the inner corner as quick highlight. On top of that, I use the Maybelline Stiletto liquid liner to finish it off with a mini wing. Nothing too dramatic, just to make my eyes pop a little more.

4. For my lashes, I start with the Tarte Lashy & Flashy curler and go over that with the Tarte Maneater mascara, both pretty much a staple for my makeup every day.

5. The last thing I put on is a bit of highlight, because I’m not actually going to sit out in the sun all day without any highlight on am I?! I don’t want anything too heavy duty, so I use the Fenty Beauty Match Stix in ‘yacht lyfe’ on my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose. I don’t like using any colored lip products, but I’ll always put on a heavy duty lip balm which adds a little sheen anyways.

6. I don’t always love using a setting spray in the summer because I feel like some of them end up feeling tacky, but I’ve been loving going over all my makeup with the Trader Joe’s rose water facial toner. It’s a super light and refreshing mist that just amps up the glow.

And there we go, all glowy and shimmery and ready for a beautiful day out in the sun. Hope you all have the loveliest weekend and I’ll see you very very soon! xx

March Favorites 2019

Good morning lovelies! I know this is a few days late, I just can’t believe it’s already April. But it’s FINALLY spring and I couldn’t be happier. Nothing makes me more happy than clear blue skies and the warmth of the sun on my skin while out and about during the day. I had so many exciting things piled up to share with you for this month’s favorites, so I hope you all enjoy. Happy reading! xx

Favorite…

Makeup ProductTarte Maneater Mascara. I’m always down for long, voluminous lashes, but this month I’ve found myself prioritizing mascara and lashes over almost everything else. I’ve been obsessed with this mascara for a while now, but have found myself reaching for it almost every single day this month. It really just gives your lashes so much definition and length with just a few coats.

Makeup Product 2 (because why not)Fenty Match Stix in Yacht Lyfe. It’s finally sunny out which means I’m living for minimal makeup with a natural glow. I’ve been obsessed with this Fenty highlighter stick since I got it last Christmas, but I’ve found myself using it almost every single day this month and I love the natural glow and shimmer it gives to my face.

Skincare ProductTree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub. Like I said, it’s finally hot and sunny so I’ve been out by the pool in a bikini almost every day. I love this sugar scrub to keep my skin healthy and radiant. It’s also a great scrub to use before shaving (because we need to keep those legs nice and sleek to show them off by the pool).

Haircare ProductGarnier Fructis Sleek & Shine anti-frizz serum. I use the Garnier shampoo, conditioner and leave-in hair treatment, but I’ve added this serum into my haircare routine as well and it always leaves my hair with the softest finish and a pretty little sheen. I use a pump of this along with the leave-in conditioner on wet hair right after I’m out of the shower.

Clothing ItemKate Spade Lisannef’s pink glitter sunglasses. I got these for Christmas this past December, but have really started wearing them a lot this month as the sun came out a little more. During my NYC trip I had these on pretty much the whole time and they’re just so freaking adorable and go with every single outfit.

Brunch SpotLavender & Honey Espresso Bar. Sunday brunch is kinda my thing (haha if you couldn’t tell), and nothing brings me more joy than finding new spots to relax on a Sunday morning over good food and a cup of coffee. A friend recommended L&H for breakfast the other morning and it was amazing. To be honest, going in I thought it was going to be boring since their specialty is toasts, but it was the farthest thing from boring. The lavender & honey and the cream cheese tartine on their artisan bread were absolutely to die for .

Sweet TreatMomofuku Milk Bar (New York City). I know you’re probably sick and tired of hearing all about New York, but I can’t help it, it was just so amazing and there were so many things to pull from for this months favorites. With that being said, Milk Bar had been on my ultimate food bucket list for years now (and even more after watching Christina Tosi’s episode of Chef’s Table), and it DID NOT disappoint. I’m not gonna lie, I definitely went to Milk Bar every single day of the trip, because when else am I going to eat Crack Pie and Cereal Milk ice cream four days in a row?! Everything I had was so so good and has earned a high place on my favorite foods for sure.

MovieThe First Monday in May. I’ve been wanting to watch this movie for a while, but after my NYC trip and visiting the Met I just had to. I love documentaries and this one was so fun to watch and different from anything else. And it’s on Netflix now so what more do you need!

TV ShowGossip Girl. I know I’m a little late (and by a little I mean a lot) to hop on the bandwagon, but, again, after my NYC trip I was like I absolutely have to start watching. I’m literally only a few episodes in but already see myself getting obsessed with it.

BookGaining: The truth about life after eating disorders. I had to pick a book to read for one of my classes this semester and decided on one about an eating disorder. As hard as it is to read about such a difficult topic that has so much impact on my life at this very moment, it’s been so empowering to read other people’s experiences.

Healthy Habit– Keeping a daily gratitude journal. This is something I’ve been doing off and on for the last two years but have found myself falling into this routine a lot more this past month. I try to write down something I’m grateful for the second I way up every day, and I really find that starting my day off with a grateful heart always gets my day off right.

February Favorites 2019

Happy Tuesday, hope you’re all having a FAB week! I know this is a few days late, but the February flew by. So without further ado, here are this past month’s favorites!

Favorite…

Makeup Product– Since we’re just a couple weeks away from the first day of spring, I’ve been loving fun and bright eyeshadow colors like the Banana Daiquiri Super Shock Shadow from Colourpop. It’s a stunning bright blue that gives the perfect pop to your eyes without being too much. And the best part, it’s only $5!

Skincare Product– I just got the Trader Joe’s Rose Water Face Toner as a gift and I’ve been obsessed with it. It has such a nice spray nozzle and mists really nicely. I love using it throughout the day to refresh my face (even with makeup on) or right before I go to bed after doing my skincare routine. It also smells amazing!

Beauty Product– Since it’s been pretty grey and rainy in LA, I’ve been craving a tan and have been using the St. Moriz Instant Tan in the shade dark to get a little extra sun-kissed glow. It goes on so well, isn’t streaky and gives a nice, even coverage. And it’s only $9 on Amazon and comes with the cutest application mitt.

Hair Care Product– This month I’ve been obsessed with the Garnier Green Apple and Green Tea shampoo. It smells so good and gets my hair feeling so clean while also making it feel healthy and hydrated which is much needed and appreciated during these dryer months.

Clothing Item– Yellow button down dress from Forever 21. I bought this on sale over Christmas knowing it would be perfect for spring/summer and I’m so glad I did. It’s so comfy, cute and flirty and can easy be dressed up with some heals or down with a pair of sneakers.

Brunch Spot– Maybe it’s because it’s almost spring, or maybe LA is just really rubbing off on me, but I’ve been obsessed with Acai/Berry bowls recently. Berry Bowl in Eagle Rock has been my go-to for healthy, quick breakfasts. My two favorites are the Tropical Bowl and the Blue Majik Bowl with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, granola, lots of coconut and agave.

Restaurant– I’m adding this in super last minute, but I just went to a new find called Blair’s in Eagle Rock for dinner last night and had to add it in. It was so good and so reasonable. We ordered the meatballs with polenta and the bruschetta with burrata to start and I had the Gnochetti with pork sausage as my main and it was so good and the coolest atmosphere.

Sweet Treat– DONUTS. I’ve always been such a donut person, but I’ve seriously been craving them so much this month. I’ve always loved Colorado Donut in Eagle Rock, but I also stumbled upon the cutest new store, Leberry Bakery in Pasadena that has the best donuts and the sweetest staff.

Quote– “But the thing is, even if I could go back, I wouldn’t belong there anymore.” -Ccz. This past week was National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, and this quote was one that was constantly on my mind. It’s a reminder of the progress I’ve made and the places I’m headed. Even if I could go back and stop the behaviors that developed into an eating disorder, I don’t think I would. I truly think that everything happens for a reason, the good, bad and ugly. And I believe that out of every storm comes a rainbow<3

And on that note, those were all my favorites this month. Hope you enjoyed and I’ll see you all very very soon!

Natural Glam- “No Makeup” Look

Good morning lovelies! Now that it’s back to school and work, there’s a lot of 5 minute, easy makeup looks going on. Today I thought I’d share my natural, go-to no-makeup look with you all. I wasn’t always a ‘wear makeup to school’ kind of gal, but lately I’ve found that it helps me feel put together and ready for the day. Having basic makeup done makes me feel like I’ve made an effort for not only people around me, but myself as well. For me, natural looks are all about keeping your skin healthy and glowy while still covering up all the imperfections.

1. Before any makeup starts, you always need to prep your face. This is always important but I really stress this on mornings where I know I’m going to have my makeup on for close to the whole day. Use a gentle cleanser and make sure to tone and moisturize. In the mornings I’ve been loving the Tarte Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost Moisturizer. It’s very lightweight but super hydrating, and I love the way my BB cream goes on over it.

2. For my face, I don’t like using foundation if I’m going to have my makeup on for more than a few hours, so I use the Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir (I’m shade 760- classic tan). It’s oil-free and lightweight but with pretty full coverage for a BB cream. And it’s also SPF 20, so would be perfect for a day at the beach or out in the sun. I love the way this blends out and covers imperfections without feeling cakey or oily. It lasts super well all day and has never made me break out. To blend it out I use my It Cosmetics Flawless Foundation brush.

3. After my face is done, I use the Sephora Waterproof Brow Pencil (I use shade 08- chocolate brown) to fill in my brows. I’ll then go over top that with the Benefit 3D Browtones (I use shade 04) to brush out and set my brows.

4. I typically don’t do any eyeshadow for these kind of looks, but I do like to use a little bit of Benefit Girl Meets Pearl liquid highlight on my eyelids and to highlight my cheekbones. Usually I’ll just use my middle finger to gently dab it on to give it a subtle and natural finish.

5. For my lashes, I always curl them first and lately I’ve been obsessed with this Tarte Pineapple Eyelash Curler. I’ll then go in with one of my all-time favorite mascaras, the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes, which is my go-to for everyday looks.

6. And finally I love using the Sephora Goji Berry Lip Balm. It has such a sweet but light scent, is super hydrating and gives a very subtle tint to your lips. It’s the perfect way to pull the whole natural look together.

12 Days of Christmas|Day 6- Holiday Pamper Routine |2018

Hello lovelies and happy Day 6! The holiday chaos getting to your head, finals driving you crazy or just in need of a Tuesday night recharge sesh by yourself, I’ve got you covered! Today’s post is my current pamper routine. I’ve done quite I few pamper routines in the past (I honestly just love writing these and reading other people’s, and who doesn’t love a little self-care), but this one is my official 2018 Holiday Pamper Routine, full of products I’m loving that will get you in the true holiday spirit.

I always start off by changing into some cozy Christmas PJs or a nice fluffy robe, really anything as long as I’m comfy. Before I start anything else I’ll try to set the mood in my room. I love scents so I’ll either use my diffuser with lavender and citrus essential oils or I’ll burn one of my favorite candles which is Champagne Toast from Bath and Body Works. And of course I’ll turn off the main lights and throw on some fairy lights. After my room’s feeling nice and relaxed, I’ll go use my MakeUp Eraser (I’m so obsessed with this right now) to take all my makeup off and then hop in the shower. I talked about these in my last pamper routine too, but I’ve been loving the Herbal Essence Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner for my hair, especially during the drier winter months. If I’m feeling like I really need it, I’ll also do a treatment using either the Briogeo deep conditioning mask or the Moroccan Gold Series treatment mask. I’ll then go ahead and use a good body scrub everywhere (it’s winter, we all have dead skin cells) and shave using the Eos shaving cream. After I shave I make sure to moisturize right away. I bought the C. Booth coconut fig body lotion over Thanksgiving and have been living for it.

If I’m at home and have my beloved bath tub I’ll take a bath after I’m done showering. I’m ridiculously obsessed with bath bombs, so of course I’ll use one of those. I absolutely love all the Lush Christmas bath bombs, so those are always a good go-to, but I also found these really cute Christmas ones from The Body Shop (so freaking affordable!) which I really want to try when I’m home for Christmas. When I’m in the bath, which I could literally sit in for hours, I’ll make sure the lights are off and have some chill show or vlog playing. If I’m really wanting to treat myself, I’ll also light a bunch of candles to really set the mood. And if you’re really really wanting to treat yourself, pour yourself a nice lil glass of wine (if your of age of course), because you deserve it;)

After I’m done in the shower (or out of the bath), I’ll dry my hair super quick with a towel and put my PJs or robe back on. During the winter my hair gets brittle and dry really easily, so I use both the Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine leave-in conditioner and the argan oil from Marrakesh Oil. If I have something to get dressed up for the next day, I’ll straighten my hair. But more often than not I just let it air dry.

Now it’s facial time! I’ll start by washing my face with either the Grown Alchemist polishing facial exfoliant or the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate. During the winter my skin can get really dry and flaky (as it does for a lot of people), so it’s really important to use a good exfoliator to get rid of all the dead skin cells and prep your skin for a face mask. On a real pamper night I’ll usually use two face masks, one purifying and one hydrating just to make sure I’m not drying out my skin too much. For the first mask I love the Indian Healing Clay with apple cider vinegar or the CVS dead sea mineral face mask. If you’re looking for a more luxurious mask, the Boscia Charcoal mask or the Glam Glow Bubblesheet are also amazing. I’ll leave that mask on for about 12-15 minutes and then wash it off/take it off. For the hydrating mask I have a ton of different Korean sheet masks that I’ll usually choose from, but I also found these really cute Christmas hydrating sheet masks at CVS which I think are perfect for a holiday pamper night. I typically leave sheet masks on for about 20 minutes so while I have that on I’ll put on either a Christmas movie (check my last 12 Days post for my fav holiday movies) or some vlogmas. Since it wouldn’t be Christmas without peppermint hot chocolate, I’ll make myself a cup of that, and maybe even top it off with some peppermint whipped cream if I’m feeling extra special.  And of course I’d make sure it’s in a cute Christmas mug.

After I take off the second mask I’ll go in with the rest of my evening skincare routine. During the winter I use heavier moisturizers, especially in the evening. I start with the Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizing lotion and go over that with the Tarte Maracuja Oil. If my skin is super dry, it usually soaks that all up within a few minutes, so in cases like that I’ll go in with another layer of the oil. I personally am not a huge fan of sleep masks, but I do love the Ahava Sleep Cream for an overnight facial. Another thing I’ve started using lately are under-eye masks because let’s be honest life can be super stressful and cause bags and circles under your eyes (I’ve started getting them and I feel like a Grandma now). But they honestly just feel so good and refreshing too.

Now that I’m feeling all clean and relaxed I’ll usually end the night in cuddled up in bed finishing off a Christmas movie or watching more vlogmas. I love spending nights out with friends, but sometimes a quiet night in taking care of yourself is just what you need (and trust me, everyone needs this once in a while).

Happy pampering! xx

12 Days of Christmas| Day 4- Holiday Glam |2018

Happy Friday everyone! Here we are for Day 4 of 12 Days, and today’s post is going to be my 2018 holiday glam. I did my Christmas make-up look during 12 Days last year and am so excited to share my updated one with you all. I tried to keep it slightly minimal (emphasizing the slightly), but still shimmery and fun because it is the holidays after all. I love the red theme of this look and think it’s going to look amazing with all the reds and golds I’m going to be wearing this season.

In order of application:

  1. Eyebrows are always the first thing I do when doing my make-up, and to do so I used the Etude House drawing eyebrow pencil in dark brown and went in with the Benefit 3D Browtones in shade 4 on top of that.
  2. I used the Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser as my primer and blended it in using my fingers.
  3. I then went in with the Maybelline Fit Me! Matte foundation in shade 335 (classic tan) and blended it out using my It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe flawless foundation brush.
  4. To conceal, I went ahead in with the Maybelline Fit Me! concealer in share 35 (deep) under my eyes, down my nose, in between my eyebrows and right under my lip. I blended that out with the It Cosmetics flawless foundation brush as well.
  5. To set everything I used the Rimmel Stay Matte setting powder with my It Cosmetics flawless powder brush.
  6. For my eyes, I started by using the shade ‘seven wonders’ from my Tarte Passport to Paradise palette as my first nude transition shade. I then went in with a deeper ‘he devil’ from the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette. I used my Luxie 249 blending brush to blend those shades out.
  7. As the main color, I actually used the lip topper in shade ‘seether’ from the Urban Decay Vice special effects collection. I just went ahead and applied that all over my eyelid using the applicator and patted it down with my finger to make sure the glitter was spread out evenly. I let it try for about 20 seconds before moving on the other eye.
  8. Because the glitter from the lip topper was fairly chunky, I decided to only line my lower lash line and not do anything over the eye shadow. I went ahead and used the Tarte Sex Kitten liner for that.
  9. Moving back to my face, I used the Ulta Glow bronzer to bronze up my face and do a light contour. I used the It Cosmetics flawless powder brush for that.
  10. I then went in with the Fenty Beauty Match Stix in ‘yatch lyfe’ to highlight my cheekbones, above my eyebrows, down my nose and on my cupid’s bow. I blended that out with the chisel powder brush from Crown.
  11. To add a little bit of color to my face I used the Tarte 12-hour Amazonian clay blush in ‘paaarty’ and patted that lightly on my cheeks using the Crown brush.
  12. I ended the look with a classic red lip using the Trestique lip glaze in ‘english rose’.
  13. And last but not least, I went in with the Tarte Maneater mascara (my absolute favorite!!) for some nice luscious lashes.

I hope you all enjoy this look and try it out yourself. See you for Day 5! xx

College Evening Pamper Routine

It’s mid-term season! It’s flu season! It’s s t r e s s season! It is getting to the craziest time of the year, the temperature is going down, work and tests are piling up and everyone is getting sick. Today’s post is going to be my college evening pamper routine to give you a little self-love time in the midst of all the chaos. I’ve also thrown in a few things to help boost your immune system to try and avoid all of those nasty sicknesses going around. This can be done by yourself for some me-time, or with your friend(s) for a fun girls night in! **I’ll try and leave as many links below!**

I always start by throwing up a plush robe (or some comfy clothes) and take my makeup off. I’ve been loving the Sephora Charcoal Micellar Water for my makeup. Then I’ll begin to set the mood in my room. I’ll throw on my fairy lights and lanterns and I’ll let my diffuser start running. I’ve been using the Iextreme Essential Oil Diffuser that I got on Amazon for only $10, and it’s amazing. It has 8 different LED colors to choose from, which is actually my favorite thing ever. At night, my favorite oils to diffuse are the Young Living Lavender and Orange essential oils.

After my room is looking and smelling good, I’ll go and take a long hot shower (I MISS MY BATH TUB!). I’ll usually do the full thing, hair mask, shave… on these kind of nights. To wash my hair, I’ve been loving the Herbal Essence Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner, it leaves your hair super soft and smooth and smells incredible. I’ll then go in with the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask. I got this in my FabFitFun box and have been obsessed with it ever since. While I let that sit for 15 minutes, I use the Eos Ultra Moisture shaving cream in pomegranate-raspberry to shave my legs and get them all nice and smooth. For my face, I’ve been loving the Grown Alchemist Polishing Facial Exfoliant with pink grapefruit. I also got this in my last FabFitFun box and I cannot begin to express how much I love this. The smell immediately transports me to a spa and the fine beads exfoliate your face so gently while still getting all the gunk off. It’s AMAZING!

Once I’m all done in there, I’ll get back into my robe and put my hair up in a hair wrap to get it out of the way. My next step is to do a face mask. If I’m really feeling it, I’ll go to to the extreme and do two masks, one clay and one hydrating. My two favorite clay masks are the Indian Healing Clay and the CVS Dead Sea Mineral Anti-Stress mask. Both of these do a really good job of extracting all the gross gunk from your skin and pores without over-drying your skin (they both do leave your skin red for a few minutes, and that’s just because of the increased blood flow to your face). My favorite hydrating mask right now is either the Smoothing Radiance Mask from Filorga or the sheet masks from Innis Free. While I have my face masks on, I’ll cuddle up in bed and put on something super fun and easy to watch on Netflix. I’ve been loving The Good Place and The Great British Bake Off recently, they’re both so good but also ADDICTIVE.

When I’m doing a full pamper night, I try to make sure I’m not just taking care of my outside, but also taking care of my insides. I love lemon water all the time, but it makes me feel super refreshed and cleansed during a night like this. Lemon is a detoxifying and digestive agent and can help to increase your metabolic rate. I also try to eat super clean, so I’ll do a lot of apples, carrots, or celery with peanut butter or a light salad, and then maybe some dark chocolate or strawberries if I’m craving something sweet. Another healthy snack I’ve been obsessed with is the Coconut Sesame Clusters from Trader Joe’s, they’re so addictive it’s crazy.

After I’m all done with my face masks I’ll start my evening skincare routine. I use the Celavive Perfecting Toner all over my face with a cotton ball to start, then I go in with the Clinque Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion and either the Tarte Maracuja Oil or the Tarte Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost Moisturizer on top of that. My holy grail products for any zits or breakouts it Lavender Oil. I put a tiny bit on right before I go to sleep and the next morning it’s like nothing was there, seriously, it’s that amazing.

Another thing I like to do before going to sleep on a pamper night is to get my stuff ready for the next morning. I just spend a few minutes going through my planner (this year I’m using the Kate Spade Things We Love Planner and it’s my favorite thing ever) and checking off everything I’ve done that day and also getting all my stuff ready for my first class the next day. It puts me at ease knowing that I can just wake up in the morning and everything will be ready to go. The last thing I do before going to bed is to use an app to do a quick meditation. I’ve been juggling between Head Space, Calm, Simple Habit and Insight Timer, but honestly haven’t found my favorite yet, but I do like spending just 5-10 minutes to wind my mind down, and I have found that I tend to sleep so much better on nights when I spend time doing this.

And then it’s lights out and time to SLEEP!
