Today’s post is one of my favorites, STOCKING STUFFERS! In our family, looking through our stockings is the first thing we do on Christmas morning. This post is all about PRESENTS! As much as we all (including myself) love receiving and opening presents, I find so much more joy in giving other people presents. Going Christmas present shopping is one of my favorite things I do all year. I love thinking about what my family and friends want and then wandering around the store for hours looking for the perfect gift. And the look on their faces when they love the gift makes everything 10 times better. One thing I started doing last year was making themed gift baskets by getting a bunch of different things related to the theme and putting it all in one basket, and it was amazing. So here is my Christmas Gift Basket Guide, happy shopping! (I’ll try to leave as many links)

Day 4 is all about fun activities to do during the holiday season. So grab your friends and family and let’s get going!
Christmas Movie Night:
One of my favorite parts of Christmas and the holiday season is all the movies. They are all so fun, light-hearted and feel good; there’s really nothing better. Grab all your friends, put on some comfy PJ’s and cuddle up in front of the TV together. To amp it up a notch, make some peppermint hot chocolate and have some gingerbread cookies ready to go. Turn off the lights, enjoy the smell of the freshly baked gingerbread cookies and get lost in the magic of the movie. (Some of my favorite Christmas movies are Love Actually, The Holiday, Christmas with the Kranks and The Santa Claus).
DIY Christmas Spa Night:
If you’re looking for a pamper sesh with your girls that won’t break the bank, this is just what you need! Start my getting all the spa essentials:
- face masks (Que Bella and Freeman Beauty one’s are super affordable!)
- hair mask (HASK is my favorite brand for hair masks)
- bath bombs
- slices of cucumbers
- spa water (just infuse water with fruit and herbs of your choice) or some rosé if you’re feeling it
- Christmas candles
- Christmas playlist
All you need to so is dim the lights, light the candles and put on some Christmas music. Put on your masks, sip your rosé and enjoy the night! (P.S. You can totally do this on your own as well if you’re looking for a night in)
Gingerbread House Making:
I know this may sound like something that you do when you’re a kid, but I really don’t think anyone every outgrows the excitement of building your own gingerbread house. Just grab everything you need, grab your friends and build your house! To change it up a little, make it a competition. Have one person be the judge and pick the best gingerbread house as the winner (and have a prize ready:). All you need is:
- square gingerbread cookies and gingerbread men
- icing in a piping bag (in white, red and green)e
- mini candy canes
- mini marshmallows
- Christmas M&Ms
- sugared gummy drops
- gummy bears
- all the other candy your heart desires!
Secret Santa/White Elephant Gift Exchange:
I know this one is pretty obvious, but I still love it! Secret Santa’s and White Elephant parties are always so much fun. Secret Santa is always fun, but White Elephants are perfect for any group too. It takes the pressure off of finding the perfect gift for one specific person and makes you think of something that anybody would like. You can add this on to any of the activities above for an amazing Christmassy day with your friends!
What are some of your favorite Christmas activities? Share them in the comments below!
These are in no particular order, because it may actually kill me to pick my favorite Christmas movie!
- Love Actually
- Home Alone
- The Santa Clause (1, 2, and 3!)
- The Holiday
- Christmas with the Kranks
- Home Alone (1 and 2)
- Deck the Halls
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Living one degree north of the equator, we’re not exactly getting the “fall/winter” weather that I would love to have. I had been watching a bunch of videos on slow cooker soup recipes, and was inspired to try making this broccoli and cheese soup. It was one of the easiest soups I’ve ever made, but also the tastiest. Even though I’m sitting here in 90 degree heat, this soup really made me feel like it was cold outside!
1 head broccoli
1/2 onion, chopped
4 cloves of garlic
4 cups chicken stock
1 cup water
1/2 cup yoghurt
1/2 cup milk
chili powder, to taste
salt & pepper, to taste
1 1/2 bags of shredded cheddar cheese
- Put the chopped up broccoli, onion and garlic in a pot with a little bit of olive oil and fry on medium heat for 2 minutes.
- Add in chicken stock, water, yoghurt and milk and simmer on low for 2-3 hours.
- Put all the vegetables in a blender (or use a stick blender), and blend until smooth. Add back to pot and simmer for another 30 minutes.
- Add the chili powder, salt & pepper, and cheese.
- Serve hot with a little bit of cheddar on top.
