*200 Posts* Looking Back

Wow, here we are, 4 years and 200 posts later. I’m going to try not to make this too mushy, but I’m truly amazed, proud, in-awe, and every other positive adjective of myself, this blog and all the places it’s gone. When I first started I was a bored high school student sitting in a class I really didn’t care about. I didn’t know who I was and I was desperately looking for answers. Swimming, school, friends, family, I didn’t know what my true life’s purpose was. And it surely wasn’t to just float through life doing whatever, I needed a purpose. The driving force to get me going. I started writing about things I enjoyed: food, fitness, travel, body image. I wrote for myself. But suddenly I realized the power that I had with my words, the power this platform I created had. People started coming up to me at school, “hey, I read your blog post the other day on body image and it was so inspiring”, “you’re blog post on those Singapore brunch spots was awesome and I tried a bunch out”. I was reaching people, people were reading my blogs. That’s when writing about things I enjoyed or cared about became my passion. It wasn’t about putting on this front that everyone would like, it was about sharing my story, my journey and my experiences while promoting what I cared about, kindness, self love and positivity. No matter what I’m writing about, how old I get or where I am in the world, those three things will always be where I’m rooted, and those three things will always be where SwimEatLove is rooted. I’m beyond grateful everything this blog has given me. It’s connected me to some of the most incredible and inspiring people, allowed me a creative outlet to express myself without any limits, and it’s given me purpose. So while I’ve now hit this milestone of 200 posts, there’s no slowing down. I want to share my story, be open, honest and vulnerable as long as I possibly can.

So to celebrate, I thought my 200th post would be a look back on the last 4 years, the posts I’ve loved, the ones you’ve loved and a bunch of others in between.

It all started with me sharing my love for swimming, the good, the bad and the ugly. Butterfly or Butterdie “When you are floating there in the water desperately trying to grab onto the lane line, is when it hits you. You are gasping for air and using the lane line to keep you above the water, while also trying to rip your super tight goggles and cap(s) off your head.”

I’ve shared photos through Life Through A Lens to give you all a little peak into my life. I’ve shared my love for food through my Food Adventures from around the world and many recipes I’ve come up with myself (some heart healthy, some healthy for your soul).

I began to share my journey to self-love, although a hard one. The ‘Perfect’ Self. “It blows my mind that I can pick up a magazine with the header “The New Plus-Sized Model”, flip it open and see a gorgeous woman wearing size 8 clothes. As a society, we have painted a picture of what the ‘perfect’ woman looks like; long skinny legs, a flat stomach, thin arms, and narrow hips.”

When I traveled, you traveled. You came with me around the world; Thailand, Paris, Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Cambodia, California and so many more. My adventures became your adventures and I loved that. I shared my journeys in those places and also what it took to get there. Holiday Travel Tips. “As this post is going up, I’m in an Uber on the way to LAX ready to hop on a plane and head back to see my family for the holidays. Since traveling is something that almost everyone does during the holidays in one way or another, I thought I would share my holiday travel guide/tips for today’s post. I’ve done some other “travel tips” posts in the past (be sure to check those out!), but this one will be my updated one specifically for the holidays. Enjoy and happy traveling! xx”

I found myself becoming interested in new and different things, and I shared that with you. Never thought I’d be a little fashion guru. Natural Glam- “No Makeup” Look. “Good morning lovelies! Now that it’s back to school and work, there’s a lot of 5 minute, easy makeup looks going on. Today I thought I’d share my natural, go-to no-makeup look with you all. I wasn’t always a ‘wear makeup to school’ kind of gal, but lately I’ve found that it helps me feel put together and ready for the day. Having basic makeup done makes me feel like I’ve made an effort for not only people around me, but myself as well. For me, natural looks are all about keeping your skin healthy and glowy while still covering up all the imperfections.”

And along with fashion, I’ve become obsessed with beauty, as well as all things summer and the beach but we already knew that. Summer Beauty. “It’s finally that time of the year where we’re all whipping out our bikinis/suits and headed to spend time at the beach, the lake or even just by the pool, soaking in every ounce of sunlight in hopes to get that perfectly sun-kissed skin. Today’s post is going to be all of my summer beauty tips and go-to’s to get you looking fresh, relaxed and glowing. Under each section I have linked some of the products I have been loving this summer.”

I shared by true and lasting love of my beautiful island of Singapore with you. Mega Guide to Singapore. “Planning on visiting Singapore or always wanting to visit? These are my top 10 things to do in Singapore. It may only be 31 miles wide and 17 miles long, but the beautiful island is PACKED with fun things to do!”

For two years now, I’ve brought you into my life during the holidays. Trying to share my profound love for Christmas and the season, 12 Days of Christmas has allowed me to do so. Christmas Tag. “Red or green – which color occupies your life during Christmas? Red, and red glitter. What’s your favorite Christmas accessory? Gold hoops. Do you buy presents or try DIYs? Buy presents, but I love putting together gift baskets/sets. Chocolate, Strawberry, or Vanilla – what do you prefer the most during Christmas? None of them… everything PEPPERMINT! What is your favorite Christmas slogan? Be naughty, save Santa the trip;)”

And what I’m most proud of is how open I’ve been about the hardest parts of my life. Sharing about my struggle with an eating disorder with you all was the hardest decision, but the best decision I ever made. As scary as it was, the number of people who reached out thanking me for trying to break the stigma was life-changing, and I don’t say that lightly. It was become a big part of my life and will stay with me forever, even way after recovery. That’s what this blog has been about, helping others feel less alone. Mental Health Moments are a way to make sure that this important conversation is being had. If no one else will talk about it, I sure as hell will. To My Eating Disorder… “Today is National Love Your Body Day, and while I try to preach and live by the idea of self-love, I’ve been struggling with this by a battling with an eating disorder. It’s not something a lot of people talk about, and it’s not something a lot of people talk about publicly. But I’m ready to break that mold. The scariest thing about this whole battle has been feeling alone in my fight. But I know I’m not the only one. I’m here telling my story with hopes that it can help others out there feel a little less alone. I’m not posting this looking for pity or attention, I’m posting this because reading other peoples stories was such a big part of the start of my recovery. If this can help even just one person feel a little less alone, then it’s worth it.”

How crazy is that, 200 posts. And guess what, I already see 400 on the horizon.

Much love always, Aime.

12 Days of Christmas|Day 6- Holiday Pamper Routine |2018

Hello lovelies and happy Day 6! The holiday chaos getting to your head, finals driving you crazy or just in need of a Tuesday night recharge sesh by yourself, I’ve got you covered! Today’s post is my current pamper routine. I’ve done quite I few pamper routines in the past (I honestly just love writing these and reading other people’s, and who doesn’t love a little self-care), but this one is my official 2018 Holiday Pamper Routine, full of products I’m loving that will get you in the true holiday spirit.

I always start off by changing into some cozy Christmas PJs or a nice fluffy robe, really anything as long as I’m comfy. Before I start anything else I’ll try to set the mood in my room. I love scents so I’ll either use my diffuser with lavender and citrus essential oils or I’ll burn one of my favorite candles which is Champagne Toast from Bath and Body Works. And of course I’ll turn off the main lights and throw on some fairy lights. After my room’s feeling nice and relaxed, I’ll go use my MakeUp Eraser (I’m so obsessed with this right now) to take all my makeup off and then hop in the shower. I talked about these in my last pamper routine too, but I’ve been loving the Herbal Essence Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner for my hair, especially during the drier winter months. If I’m feeling like I really need it, I’ll also do a treatment using either the Briogeo deep conditioning mask or the Moroccan Gold Series treatment mask. I’ll then go ahead and use a good body scrub everywhere (it’s winter, we all have dead skin cells) and shave using the Eos shaving cream. After I shave I make sure to moisturize right away. I bought the C. Booth coconut fig body lotion over Thanksgiving and have been living for it.

If I’m at home and have my beloved bath tub I’ll take a bath after I’m done showering. I’m ridiculously obsessed with bath bombs, so of course I’ll use one of those. I absolutely love all the Lush Christmas bath bombs, so those are always a good go-to, but I also found these really cute Christmas ones from The Body Shop (so freaking affordable!) which I really want to try when I’m home for Christmas. When I’m in the bath, which I could literally sit in for hours, I’ll make sure the lights are off and have some chill show or vlog playing. If I’m really wanting to treat myself, I’ll also light a bunch of candles to really set the mood. And if you’re really really wanting to treat yourself, pour yourself a nice lil glass of wine (if your of age of course), because you deserve it;)

After I’m done in the shower (or out of the bath), I’ll dry my hair super quick with a towel and put my PJs or robe back on. During the winter my hair gets brittle and dry really easily, so I use both the Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine leave-in conditioner and the argan oil from Marrakesh Oil. If I have something to get dressed up for the next day, I’ll straighten my hair. But more often than not I just let it air dry.

Now it’s facial time! I’ll start by washing my face with either the Grown Alchemist polishing facial exfoliant or the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate. During the winter my skin can get really dry and flaky (as it does for a lot of people), so it’s really important to use a good exfoliator to get rid of all the dead skin cells and prep your skin for a face mask. On a real pamper night I’ll usually use two face masks, one purifying and one hydrating just to make sure I’m not drying out my skin too much. For the first mask I love the Indian Healing Clay with apple cider vinegar or the CVS dead sea mineral face mask. If you’re looking for a more luxurious mask, the Boscia Charcoal mask or the Glam Glow Bubblesheet are also amazing. I’ll leave that mask on for about 12-15 minutes and then wash it off/take it off. For the hydrating mask I have a ton of different Korean sheet masks that I’ll usually choose from, but I also found these really cute Christmas hydrating sheet masks at CVS which I think are perfect for a holiday pamper night. I typically leave sheet masks on for about 20 minutes so while I have that on I’ll put on either a Christmas movie (check my last 12 Days post for my fav holiday movies) or some vlogmas. Since it wouldn’t be Christmas without peppermint hot chocolate, I’ll make myself a cup of that, and maybe even top it off with some peppermint whipped cream if I’m feeling extra special.  And of course I’d make sure it’s in a cute Christmas mug.

After I take off the second mask I’ll go in with the rest of my evening skincare routine. During the winter I use heavier moisturizers, especially in the evening. I start with the Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizing lotion and go over that with the Tarte Maracuja Oil. If my skin is super dry, it usually soaks that all up within a few minutes, so in cases like that I’ll go in with another layer of the oil. I personally am not a huge fan of sleep masks, but I do love the Ahava Sleep Cream for an overnight facial. Another thing I’ve started using lately are under-eye masks because let’s be honest life can be super stressful and cause bags and circles under your eyes (I’ve started getting them and I feel like a Grandma now). But they honestly just feel so good and refreshing too.

Now that I’m feeling all clean and relaxed I’ll usually end the night in cuddled up in bed finishing off a Christmas movie or watching more vlogmas. I love spending nights out with friends, but sometimes a quiet night in taking care of yourself is just what you need (and trust me, everyone needs this once in a while).

Happy pampering! xx

Grab a blanket and a peppermint hot chocolate and spend your Sunday night chilling and getting in the Christmas spirit. What are you watching and listening to this Christmas?

The Santa Clause (1, 2, and 3, DUH)

Bad Mom’s Christmas (don’t judge me)

All I Want for Christmas

12 Days of Christmas |Day 3- Gift Guide|2018

One of my absolute favorite parts of the holiday season is planning and buying presents for all my family and friends. I posted my gift guide last year and had so much fun putting it together so I thought I would share my updated guide for this year, full of the perfect gifts for all price ranges. Remember that gifts aren’t always about how much you spend, but it’s really the thought that counts (as cliche as that may sound).  Happy gifting!

College Evening Pamper Routine

It’s mid-term season! It’s flu season! It’s s t r e s s season! It is getting to the craziest time of the year, the temperature is going down, work and tests are piling up and everyone is getting sick. Today’s post is going to be my college evening pamper routine to give you a little self-love time in the midst of all the chaos. I’ve also thrown in a few things to help boost your immune system to try and avoid all of those nasty sicknesses going around. This can be done by yourself for some me-time, or with your friend(s) for a fun girls night in! **I’ll try and leave as many links below!**

I always start by throwing up a plush robe (or some comfy clothes) and take my makeup off. I’ve been loving the Sephora Charcoal Micellar Water for my makeup. Then I’ll begin to set the mood in my room. I’ll throw on my fairy lights and lanterns and I’ll let my diffuser start running. I’ve been using the Iextreme Essential Oil Diffuser that I got on Amazon for only $10, and it’s amazing. It has 8 different LED colors to choose from, which is actually my favorite thing ever. At night, my favorite oils to diffuse are the Young Living Lavender and Orange essential oils.

After my room is looking and smelling good, I’ll go and take a long hot shower (I MISS MY BATH TUB!). I’ll usually do the full thing, hair mask, shave… on these kind of nights. To wash my hair, I’ve been loving the Herbal Essence Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner, it leaves your hair super soft and smooth and smells incredible. I’ll then go in with the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask. I got this in my FabFitFun box and have been obsessed with it ever since. While I let that sit for 15 minutes, I use the Eos Ultra Moisture shaving cream in pomegranate-raspberry to shave my legs and get them all nice and smooth. For my face, I’ve been loving the Grown Alchemist Polishing Facial Exfoliant with pink grapefruit. I also got this in my last FabFitFun box and I cannot begin to express how much I love this. The smell immediately transports me to a spa and the fine beads exfoliate your face so gently while still getting all the gunk off. It’s AMAZING!

Once I’m all done in there, I’ll get back into my robe and put my hair up in a hair wrap to get it out of the way. My next step is to do a face mask. If I’m really feeling it, I’ll go to to the extreme and do two masks, one clay and one hydrating. My two favorite clay masks are the Indian Healing Clay and the CVS Dead Sea Mineral Anti-Stress mask. Both of these do a really good job of extracting all the gross gunk from your skin and pores without over-drying your skin (they both do leave your skin red for a few minutes, and that’s just because of the increased blood flow to your face). My favorite hydrating mask right now is either the Smoothing Radiance Mask from Filorga or the sheet masks from Innis Free. While I have my face masks on, I’ll cuddle up in bed and put on something super fun and easy to watch on Netflix. I’ve been loving The Good Place and The Great British Bake Off recently, they’re both so good but also ADDICTIVE.

When I’m doing a full pamper night, I try to make sure I’m not just taking care of my outside, but also taking care of my insides. I love lemon water all the time, but it makes me feel super refreshed and cleansed during a night like this. Lemon is a detoxifying and digestive agent and can help to increase your metabolic rate. I also try to eat super clean, so I’ll do a lot of apples, carrots, or celery with peanut butter or a light salad, and then maybe some dark chocolate or strawberries if I’m craving something sweet. Another healthy snack I’ve been obsessed with is the Coconut Sesame Clusters from Trader Joe’s, they’re so addictive it’s crazy.

After I’m all done with my face masks I’ll start my evening skincare routine. I use the Celavive Perfecting Toner all over my face with a cotton ball to start, then I go in with the Clinque Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion and either the Tarte Maracuja Oil or the Tarte Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost Moisturizer on top of that. My holy grail products for any zits or breakouts it Lavender Oil. I put a tiny bit on right before I go to sleep and the next morning it’s like nothing was there, seriously, it’s that amazing.

Another thing I like to do before going to sleep on a pamper night is to get my stuff ready for the next morning. I just spend a few minutes going through my planner (this year I’m using the Kate Spade Things We Love Planner and it’s my favorite thing ever) and checking off everything I’ve done that day and also getting all my stuff ready for my first class the next day. It puts me at ease knowing that I can just wake up in the morning and everything will be ready to go. The last thing I do before going to bed is to use an app to do a quick meditation. I’ve been juggling between Head Space, Calm, Simple Habit and Insight Timer, but honestly haven’t found my favorite yet, but I do like spending just 5-10 minutes to wind my mind down, and I have found that I tend to sleep so much better on nights when I spend time doing this.

And then it’s lights out and time to SLEEP!

Tarte Review- NEW PRODUCTS!

Happy Tuesday lovelies, hope you’ve had a great weekend and are ready for a fab week ahead! Today’s post is going to be all about new (some new to Tarte, some new to me) Tarte products! As most of you already known I’ve been Tarte-obsessed for years now and I think my obsession has gone to a whole new level over the past 6 months. I’ve tried a lot of new products recently and am so excited to share my favorite ones with you. They have also just come out with their new Tarte in Paradise collection which I am already in love with and can’t wait to try more of. Enjoy and I’ll leave as many links (and photos) as I can below!

**Addition: On the day I’m posting this they just released even more new products so PLEASE go check those out, they are the epitome of adorable!!**

New to me:

Rainforest of the Sea Volume III Eyeshadow Palette– The second this came out I new I had to get it. It was all the shades I love and the packaging was the most adorable thing I’d ever seen. It has 7 glitter shades and one transitional matte shade so you can do a lot of looks with it. It’s all neutral/gold colors so perfect for a casual or everyday look. I love this palette.

Rainforest of the Sea 4-in-1 Setting Mist– I have tried so many different setting sprays and mists and couldn’t find one I loved until I tried this. I seriously wish I tried it sooner. It is so refreshing on your face and has a gorgeous subtle scent that I love. The spray nozzle is really good and sprays a fine mist, which I haven’t found in many other sprays. It helps your makeup last so much longer and also works as a little booster in the middle of the day. It’s my new best friends.

Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost– This is another product that I wish I had in my routine a lot earlier. It smells amazing and has a lovely gel-like cooling texture. It’s also one of the most hydrating products I’ve ever used, and a tiny bit goes a long way. I use this every night before I go to bed and it has made my skin SO much healthier looking.

Color Splash Lipstick in Island Life– I was so excited to try this lipstick out and it surpassed my high expectations. The packaging was what caught my eye at first, but the formula is so amazing and hydrating on my lips (I hate lip products that are super drying). And this shade is so beautiful I’ve been wearing it everyday.

Park Ave Princess Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer– I was so jealous watching all the YouTubers try out the Park Ave Princess collection, and I finally got this bronzer a few weeks ago! It is seriously incredible. My favorite bronzer for the last 2 years has been the one in the Pro Glow palette and I have to say I love this one just as much. It has a sparkle in it that doesn’t make it to blinding but adds a nice glow to your skin. It’s one stunner of a bronzer!

Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Fanciful– I love the Amazonian Clay Blushes (I have it in about four other shades), but this one is by far my favorite. The packaging makes it look a little darker than it it, but it works so well on tan/dark skin. It leaves a nice little rosy color on your skin but doesn’t overpower. And it goes on so smoothly and is easy to blend out.

Maracuja Oil– Okay, I don’t even know where to start with this one. I’ve heard the most incredible things about this products but have always been so nervous to try it because I have oily skin. But let me tell you, this is a saving grace for your face. I know I’ve talked about this in a lot of previous posts so I’ll try not to ramble on, but if you try one thing from this post please please please try this! You will fall in love, it’s worth every penny.

Better Bod Bronze and Contour– I got a little bronzer set from Tarte not knowing what I was going to think, but I love this product! It goes on so easy and leaves you with a little sun-kissed glow even if you’ve been copped up inside for weeks studying. Game changer!

New to Tarte:

Tarte Fragrance in Sweet Tarte– This fragrance is so sophisticated but sweet and flirty at the same time, I’m loving it. I use it everyday on my wrists before I go to class and find myself just casually smelling it throughout the day.

Glide and Go Buttery Lipstick in Pink Palm– Not only is the packaging on this the cutest (gold with palm trees), the color is stunning and the formula is just as the name says, buttery af!

Maneater Mascara– I tried this for the first time a few days ago and I was sitting across the room from one of my friends and she goes “OMG Aime I don’t even have my glasses on and I can see your eyelashes all the way from here”. I think that pretty much sums up how I feel about this mascara, OBSESSED.

Glam on the Go Eyeshadow Palette– This palette is by far the cutest packaging I’ve seen from Tarte. It has a cute holographic picture of flamingos on the front and I am living for it. I’m not sure if they’ve used a new formula for these shadows or not, but they are incredible. The pigment is so strong and the glitter sticks to your lids perfectly without ANY fallout. The Leave Your Mark palette has been my go-to for my everyday look, but I think this palette has overtaken it.

Live Life Colorfully- Kate Spade Lookbook

With the sad news of Kate Spade coming out, people have been sharing the stories of their “firsts”. Their first Kate Spade wallet, their first Kate Spade purchase that marked the transition from adolescence to adulthood. My very first Kate Spade present was a white and orange wallet. It was bright and shiny, the way all of her designs were. 3 years ago, I made my own first big purchase; a beige and pastel yellow Kate Spade handbag. For years, Kate Spade has brought me true joy through her colorful and lively designs. I will be forever grateful for all of the memories she has allowed me to create and for allowing me to express myself through fashion and beauty. In honor of her beautiful life, I have put together a few of my favorite KS pieces.

Go-To Makeup Products

Today’s post is going to be all about my recent favorite make-up/beauty products. I’ve spent the last few years growing my make-up collection and learning how to play with different colors and products, and I just wanted to share some of the products that I absolutely love. I’ll try to link as much as I can below, and will also link my Pinterest makeup/beauty board where I get a lot of my inspiration!

Face:

Moisturizer- I’ve used the same moisturizer for the last 2 years, and it’s the Curel Moisture Face Milk. It’s lightweight and not sticky, but is super hydrating. I always wash my face and use this before I start my makeup, and it works really well.

Primer- My favorite primer to use is the Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser. It does a really good job at blurring out your pores, and the foundation and concealer that I put on top of it goes on really smoothly.

Foundation- The Maybelline Fit Me Matte Foundation has been my go-to for a long time. They have a huge range of shades, so it’s easy to find your match. It’s a heavy coverage, but light weight and doesn’t make your face look too shiny (perfect for oily skin).

Concealer- Going along with the foundation, but favorite concealer is the Maybelline Fit Me Oil-Free Stick Foundation. I love stick concealers because I think they’re really easy to use and help you put it on precisely. Just like the foundation, it leaves a matte finish and covers blemishes and scars really well.

Eyes:

Eye Shadow- I’ve tried LOTS of eye shadows and tested out different palettes before, but my absolute favorite is the Naked Heat Palette. I fell in love with it the second it was released, and finally got it for Christmas last year. The shades are beyond stunning and the mix of matte and glitter shades make it really easy to put together different kinds of looks. I use this for my everyday makeup as well as fancy/fun makeup looks.

Mascara- I discovered my favorite mascara after receiving it in my Ipsy bag (check the link below to learn more about/subscribe to Ipsy) a few months ago. The PUR Cosmetics Fully Charged Mascara is one of the best I’ve ever tried. It’s super pigmented and high volume. Just one layer of it is really thick and noticeable.

Eye Liner- My favorite liner isn’t actually a black eyeliner, but it’s the Tarte glitter liners. I bought the three pack with rose gold, blue and gold, and I love them all. One side is a metallic liner and the other side is a glitter liner. I use the metallic side on my upper eye lid and the glitter side right over my eye shadow in the middle of my lid. They’re so stunning!

Cheeks:

Highlighter- I absolutely LOVE highlighters so I actually have three (I just can’t choose between them). The first is the Tarte Pro Glow Palette with 4 different highlighters. The second is the Fenty Beauty Match Stix in the shade Yacht Lyfe. It’s a rose gold-ish shade and I think the subtle highlight is beyond beautiful. I use this almost everyday. The last highlighter I love is more for crazy looks, and it’s the Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in the shade Trophy Wife. It’s a really bright gold, but goes on really subtly, especially on darker skin.

Blush- My favorite blush is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush. I got this one in my Ipsy as well and absolutely love it. They’re super pigmented, so even just one swoop with the brush will get a lot on.

Bronzer- My favorite bronzers are the two in the Tarte Pro Glow Palette, one powder (shade) and one cream (sculpt). The powder one is beautiful and goes on and blends out really well, and the cream one is perfect for a good contour.

Lips:

Chapstick- I always use chapstick before putting any lip products on because I think it helps my lips stay fresh and the product last longer. My favorites are the Burt’s Bees Lip Balms. I love all the smells, but my favorites are Wild Cherry and Coconut & Pear.

Lip Gloss- My favorite gloss is the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb. It’s a bit on the heavier side, but settles in nicely and lasts for a long time. It’s has a really pretty sheen over lip balm.

Matte Gloss- My favorite matte gloss is the Kylie Lip Kit in the shade Candy K. My friend originally had this and when I tried it I knew I had to have it. I’m not a fan of bright red or pink shades, I prefer nudes, and I think this shade it perfect. I usually put on lip balm, then line the lips with the liner that comes with the kit and then fill in my lips with the gloss. I’ve heard from some people that the matte glosses crack, but I’ve found that using lip balm underneath stops it from cracking.

Brushes:

The best brushes I’ve ever used was from an It Cosmetics set. All of the brushes are super soft but do a really good job at blending, shading or whatever else you’re using it for. The set comes with brushes for your face and eyes, so you’re all covered.
